I am just starting my odyssey with FreeRTOS so I dunno what category nor which tag might be applicable (perhaps someone might help?!?).

Notice that coreMQQ is at version 3.1.1 - - - aiui MQQT is actually at version 5.0.

Is there an update in development or no?

The latest released coreMQTT version supports MQTT version 5: coreMQTT/source/core_mqtt_serializer_private.c at v5.0.2 · FreeRTOS/coreMQTT · GitHub.
