# uIC - IAR v5.10 port to Atmel AT91SAM7X-EK

Hello, there is an existing uIC ARM7 port using IAR embedded workbench 4.x, however, IAR have a new version and I am unable to compile without errors. I have downloaded the 30 days trial version (5.10) of embedded workbench.  
I am new to IAR, FreeRTOS and to the Atmel eval board. Is anybody can help?

The marketing information I received from IAR stated that switching from 4.x to 5.x requires an update to the project file and update the source files.&nbsp; The project file is updated automatically when you open the project from a 5.x version, the source files have to be updated manually.&nbsp; I would have thought that just the linker script and C startup code required update, you would have to check with IAR to see what needs changing.

I think there is also a new V4.x version which is backward compatible.
