# MPU V2 for CM3 & CM4

Hi All,  
unlike the CM33\_NTZ & CM33 ports, the CM4F & CM4F\_MPU have separate folders and files.  
is there any plan to unify them in one port that the MPU support gets set with `configENABLE_MPU=1` flag?

Hi @rahmanih

ARMv7-M ports have MPU and non-MPU ports separately for historic reasons. While writing the ARMv8-M ports, we used our learnings from maintaining ARMv7-M ports over years and created a single port. As of now, we do not have plans to unify them. We will let you know if that changes.
