# ARM Cortex-R8 CPU support

I’d like to know the plan to support ARM Cortex-R8 CPU in the future. and how to port FreeRTOS for Cortex-R8.

Can you try using our [Cortex-R5 port](https://github.com/FreeRTOS/FreeRTOS-Kernel/tree/main/portable/GCC/ARM_CR5)? Based on a quick glance on [this page](https://www.arm.com/-/media/Arm%20Developer%20Community/PDF/Cortex-A%20R%20M%20datasheets/Arm%20Cortex-R%20Comparison%20Table.pdf), it seems you should be able to use the R5 port.
